Job Role: Assistant Manager

Location: Gurgaon

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, establishing strong relationships, and providing exceptional client service. Understand their legal needs and objectives and provide strategic advice and guidance.
  • Gap Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of the clients’ existing legal operations, contracting, IP, compliance, and litigation processes. Identify gaps and areas for improvement to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Process Mapping and Improvement: Analyse and map out existing legal processes and workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clients and internal stakeholders, to identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and automation. Develop and implement recommendations to optimize legal operations.
  • Transition to Managed Service: Work closely with the enterprise delivery and Operations team to facilitate the transition of legal functions to a managed service model. Ensure a seamless transfer of responsibilities, including knowledge transfer, training, and change management initiatives.
  • Technology Implementation: Assess the clients’ technology landscape and identify opportunities for implementing legal technology solutions to streamline processes, improve data management, and enhance collaboration. Collaborate with IT and other relevant teams to evaluate, select, and implement appropriate technology solutions.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Assist clients in developing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures. Stay up to date with relevant legal and regulatory changes and provide guidance on compliance requirements. Identify and mitigate potential legal and business risks.
  • Litigation Support: Provide expert guidance and support in litigation matters, working closely with clients, external counsel, and internal teams. Assist in the development of litigation strategies, review legal documents, and provide recommendations to achieve favourable outcomes.

Qualification & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in legal consulting, legal operations, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of legal operations, contracting, intellectual property, compliance, and litigation practices.
  • Experience in conducting process assessments, mapping, and improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with technology solutions for legal operations, such as contract management systems, e-billing, matter management, or document management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results within budgetary constraints.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.
  • Preferred but not mandatory a law degree from an accredited institution.
