Job Role: Associate- Finance & Accounting

Location: Gurgaon

PQE: 3 years

Responsibilities & QualificationsSpecifically, the Associate – Finance and Accounting Services will

  • Draft client invoices, share with matter responsible lawyers for review.
  • Save prebills and dispatched copies of invoices to document management system.
  • Manage invoices rejected by client in eBilling platforms – Prepare appeal spreadsheet and saving these to relevant matter in DMS.
  • Assist with opening new matters, saving documents in DMS for new matters.
  • Generate billing reports including WIP report, overdue invoices report with ageing.
  • Apart from the above listed tasks team will also be able to cover below listed tasks –
  • Application of payments received to outstanding AR invoice
  • Issuing credit notes to clients and applying these to the outstanding report
  • Issuing remittance advices and statement of accounts
  • Submitting invoices to eBilling platform
  • Moving payments from general trust to office account and vice-versa, per trust compliance
  • Preparing trust requisitions and seeking approvals from clients and partners Conducting weekly, bi-monthly, monthly trust reconciliations
  • Maintaining matter-wise trust client files
  • Assisting trust auditors seeking files/documents during audit
  • Plus a wide range of other F&A tasks


  • Minimum 3 years as a Finance Accounting Specialist.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
  • Excellent accounting software user.

Skills For Success

  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of Aderrant .
  • Knowledge of eBilling Tools such as Tymetrix, Serengiti etc.

Technical Skills

  • Basic computer skills, Excel and MS Office.
  • Good Accounting background.
  • Some experience with spreadsheets and automated accounting systems.
  • Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently.
  • Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers.
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic and should be able to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evenings.
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment.


  • B.Com (bachelor’s in commerce), or MBA in Finance is preferred but not required.
